Leap day sale, a funny story, and giveaway reminder

Tomorrow TpT is having Leap Year Sale! Yay! I'm super excited because I have things on my wish list that I will definitely be purchasing tomorrow.

My whole TpT store tomorrow is going to be 20% off and when you use the promo code above that will take another 10% off. There are going to be oodles of other sales too, so come shop around on TpT tomorrow!

So...here's my funny story. Today, during the Bible lesson I was teaching about the 10 lepers that Jesus healed. The focus was on being thankful, since only 1 leper came back to thank Jesus. We also talked about how if you had leprosy, you had to say "unclean, unclean...etc." if someone without the disease was coming near you since it was contagious. Anyways, one of my sweet girls raised her hand and then started to giggle and then said...Miss Leatherman you should say "unclean, unclean, because you are sick (I've had a terrible cold for over 2 weeks now...ugh). " Then, the whole class started to laugh, including myself. :)

If you haven't done so yet, please sign up for my giveaway. It ends tomorrow. All you need to do is become a follower of my blog and comment on the giveaway post.

Happy (early) Leap Day!

Mid Winter Break!

Well, today is the last day of my four day weekend. To celebrate my last day of break I've decided to spend my time wisely and start my reading for my online class. :)

I'm taking Content Area Literacy through an online program for my Master's in Reading.

Yesterday, I uploaded a new mini math center pack to TPT called St. Patrick's Day Time and Money Math Centers. Here is a preview of what's included in the pack:

Also...I uploaded a St. Patrick's Day Freebie too! It's called Lucky Numbers: A St. Patrick's Day Math Game. Included is the game board and a recording sheet that helps with basic addition and subtraction facts.

I should probably get back to reading now. :) Happy Monday!

Catch up!

I've been meaning to post some pictures from homecoming week and Valentine's Day. I'm terrible when it comes to thinking to take pictures of things in the classroom. I only had my camera phone....so the pictures maybe a bit fuzzy.

I got this idea from Christina over at Mrs. Bainbridge's Class. I randomly gave each of my students another classmate's name. Then they wrote a note to that classmate explaining why they are a lovely friend. I had a whole bunch of foam stickers so they wrote the names in foam letters.

Here's our class poster from Homecoming Week. The theme was "A Knight to Remember" Students cut themselves out of construction paper in the school colors. Then they put crowns on their heads and decorated them with sequins.

Happy Saturday!

Hero Day and Yes...Another Freebie!

So...today was dress like your hero/super hero day. So fun! I had a few super heros and a few of my girls dressed up like their mom...so sweet! This afternoon we played food relay games and the kids had a blast.

I just posted President's Day Tree Maps on TpT. The best part is that it's FREE! So go ahead and click on the link to download your own copy. Let me know how you used them with your students.

Also, I was wondering what are some tried and true books that you have used with your students for President's Day?

Homecoming Week and a Freebie!

Today was the first day of homecoming week festivities. Everyday has a different dress up theme. Today was dress in your class color (red). It was great to see them all almost head to toe in red. We started working on our homecoming poster and ended the day with an all school pep assembly. The freshmen were in charge and we played relay games. I LOVE this week, but it can be very exhausting at the same time.

In celebration for homecoming, I've included a freebie here that accompanies my Counting by 25's to 1,000 from Tpt. Just click on the link to visit the site and download it for FREE!

Then... here is a recording sheet to accompany this activity that is only available here!
